I went to the chiropractor (Healing Hands, Rochester Mall) due to my shoulder pain/stiffness that was lasting for months. After the initial assessment (X-ray, posture) some issues were pointed about that I was unsure if they actually explained my shoulder pain/stiffness. Nonetheless I signed up for 12 sessions that I took over the course of 3 months. While the weekly treatment temporary relieved (for a day or so) my pain/stiffness, there was no lasting improvement. After 12 sessions – my shoulder feels no different. The good parts:- front desk and the chiropractors were super professional, friendly and they emitted positive vibes (I felt happy just going there)- easy to get appointments- the ambience was nice and relaxing; care was taken to decontaminate used surfaces- I am definitely aware more about my posture (thanks to the chiropractors)The less good parts:- I wish a better consultation would be provided: what can they do and what are their limitations in treatment? What is their success rate with my issue (based on their experiences)?- There were two package options: one for 12 and one for 25. The first 12 session should reduce pain/discomfort and the further sessions should help with correction/reconstruction. So, no matter what the issues is, this is the course of healing? I find it too generalized. Also, if the treatment is working, when can one except to see results? I do not see a point singing up for 25 session and the treatment for whatever reasons does not work for a particular condition/individual.- Price. I find it expensive. The session with the chiropractor takes 5 to max 10 minutes the rest of the about 25 min I was there/session I was put on some devices (electrodes to stimulate your muscles and some other device that supposed to improve the blood flow to your spine). I pay less for a dentist for teeth cleaning/ polishing than for chiropractor per session (on a package).- While bad posture was pointed out (very appreciative of that) and some stretches has been shown I think more could have been done. By just googling I found way more stretches and exercises for shoulder issues. This is the only chiropractor clinic I visited and thus I can not comment on how their prices/consultation/treatment compares to other chiropractor clinics. Despite having no comparison, I feel more could have been done.
