How can we help?

How can we help?

Your answers might already be in the options below.
Alternatively, you may contact our customer service team.

1) What does a Chiropractor do?

A chiropractor provides non-invasive treatments with the benefits of spinal adjustments and realigning the joints to improve the system and function throughout the body.

In general, chiropractors believe in the ability of the body to self-heal through Chiropractic adjustment with the help of modalities such as the Flexion distraction table, E-stim, Denneroll, and functional exercises. They also utilize various other treatment modalities such as ultrasound, bodywork, etc. to get patients back to health.

2) What is a Chiropractic adjustment?

A Chiropractor will adjust the joints using a high velocity and low amplitude force to restore any dysfunction (pain) and/ or restrictions that exist in joints of the spine and skeletal system. A chiropractor’s main focus is the spine, as it protects the central nervous system. Some Chiropractors also exercise a very strong background in nutritional assessment, ergonomics, exercise physiology, and preventative care and primarily use a hands-on and holistic approach.

3) Are neck adjustments safe?

Yes, neck adjustments are a very safe treatment when performed by chiropractors as they are trained in the correct techniques to manipulate the joints safely. Chiropractors also ensure that it is clinically safe enough for the adjustment before they perform it. This is why an X-ray is required before more customised treatment can be done to ensure that your body is able to receive it.

4) Is Chiropractic treatment painful?

Chiropractic adjustment should not be painful. However, in some instances when the injury is either acute (happened recently) or sub-acute(on the road to recovery), the muscles and ligaments may prove to be guarded or sensitive to the touch, these are some exceptions.

A thorough examination of your complaints and conditions can alleviate any concerns that you may have.

5) What are the risks and benefits involved in Chiropractic Treatment?

Benefits of chiropractic treatment:

  • Relief of muscle tension
  • Restore motion to the joints
  • Improve body’s physical function
  • Pain reduction
  • More

Risk of chiropractic treatment:

In rare cases where a Chiropractor is not well-trained, patients may experience injury to the cervical spine due to improper chiropractic adjustment/manipulation. Always look for reputable companies with Chiropractors having the relevant academic and professional qualifications.

FUN FACT:

The chances of getting injured by a Chiropractor are lesser than getting into a car accident or matching with a perfect tinder date.

6) When should you see a Chiropractor?

If you are experiencing any of these issues;

  • Neck/Shoulder Pain
  • Headaches/Migraines
  • Back Pain
  • Knee Pain
  • Pregnancy Induced Pain
  • Sports Injuries
  • Postural imbalance
  • Herniated/Slipped Disc
  • Scoliosis
  • Sciatica
  • Wrist Pain
  • TMJ

Chiropractors also treat a myriad of conditions aside from the ones listed. A rule of thumb is any issues related to muscles or joints. A chiropractor’s education is very extensive and becoming a chiropractor is no simple task. Many chiropractors take at least four years of undergraduate schooling where they receive a bachelor's degree in science or health. This includes classes like psychology, physics, inorganic and organic chemistry, biology, and hours of lab work for each class.

5) What are the risks and benefits involved in Chiropractic Treatment?
1) Posture Analysis & Thermographic Scan

Identifying postural imbalances to detect any differences in weight between the right and the left sides of the body, alignment from our head all the way down to our hips.

The Tytron scanner uses precision sensors, speciality lenses and a unique focusing system to give the chiropractor the most accurate and repeatable information available.

It is a very safe & accurate thermographic scanner that scans the full spine or segmental parts of the spine in approximately 15 seconds. The Tytron detects areas of asymmetry as well as indicate areas with greater temperature due to acute soft tissue damage.

You will be given a print out of your result on the first visit.

What are the benefits of Chiropractic Treatment

The benefits of getting a chiropractic treatment helps with reducing pain and increase joint mobility. We’ve written an article all about it here.

There also seems to be a lot of concern about the safety of getting adjusted by a chiropractor. We have been treating thousands of patients since 2010 and many have benefited from it. We believe in education so we have put up a blog page all about chiropractics. We hope to tell people more about chiropractics so that people can understand and appreciate chiropractics.

1) How many Chiropractic treatments/sessions will I need to get well?

The number of sessions varies from chiropractor to chiropractor. Typically 12 to 40 sessions should be the ideal range, anything more may overwhelm your body. Also, frequency should taper down after 1-3 months and not 3 times a week for your entire program.

2) How often will I have to come for Chiropractic treatment?

The frequency of your treatment depends on the severity of your condition(s).
Typically, patienst may come twice a week in the beginning and taper down to once a week and eventually once every 2 weeks.

3) Can my condition be resolved in 1 Chiropractic treatment?

Just like going to the gym once or eating healthy for 1 meal will not give you the body you desire, chiropractic will take some time & commitment to see results. You should set a goal in mind of what you want to achieve, be it pain relief, performance enhancement or postural correction. Communicate clearly with your chiropractor your goals and work with him or her to achieve them. A good chiropractor will spend time with you to customise a treatment plan and be ready to make changes when the need arises.

5) What are the risks and benefits involved in Chiropractic Treatment?
1) Are X-rays needed for Chiropractic adjustment?

X-rays are recommended if you want to take care of your condition holistically and to get to the root of the issues. It is also for the patients safety and for us to rule out any possible underlying conditions that cannot be treated by Chiropractic adjustment. Just like your regular health check up, X-rays serve to give you and the chiropractor an insight to your spinal health as our naked eyes can only tell a rough story.

2) Is radiation from X-rays harmful?

X-rays are a naturally occurring form of electromagnetic radiation, they are produced when charged particles of sufficient energy hit a material. Unlike CT scans, the radiation emitted from X-rays is very low. The benefits of these tests far outweigh the minimal risks involved. Typically the amount of radiation emitted from cervical spine x-rays is about 0.2msv which is equivalent to taking a few flights a year.

3) How often can you take an X-ray?

We usually recommend patients to take subsequent X-rays at least 3-6 months apart. Do inform your chiropractor if you had taken X-rays before and the last date of the most recent X-rays during your first visit. You are also advised to bring along those images for your chiropractor to assess if new ones are needed.
